UNBREAKABLE NEWS

A statue is stolen. But not all that glitters is gold. In a remote region of Burma, two men sneaked into a small Buddhist temple to steal a statue thinking that it was solid gold weighing over 35 kg. When they tried to melt the statue, the two men realized that it was actually a mummified monk covered in gauzes and lacquer on which a gold leaf had been laid. A very rare practice reserved for monks worthy of particular veneration. The two men were arrested on numerous charges, including theft, desecration and sacrilege
